Young Girl Cyclist Saved By Wearing A Helmet

In a caravan Park in Sydney, Australia there was a lucky escape for a young girl on her bike.
She was wearing a helmet but came around the corner on the wrong side of the road ad hit a car head on.
She bounced off the bonnet and possibly had injuries to her leg by the look of it but they were not serious injuries.
This happened in October 2014 but it does show that you should teach the young children to always use a helmet while riding a bicycle.
This video was shot by a dashcam on the car which collided with the youngster.

I am not sure what the law is in the UK as regards to crash helmets on cycles.
I do hope this sort of incident will help others realise that wearing a helmet while riding a cycle makes sense.

The incident looks bad but I am convinced the little girls helmet saved her from serious injuries.
Looks nasty but not as bad as it appears I am sure.
Well done to the mum who made her put on a helmet.

Yeah it looks like a bad incident but the girl was ok thanks to wearing her cycle helmet.

Ah, poor kid.
They should show this on television a one of those public information film.
If this doesn't make the parents teach the children anything I don't know what will!

The noise makes the incident seem worse that it probably was.
It does prove that cycle helmets can save lives.
I am sure if the kid was hit by a speeding car the accident would have been worse so I am glad she is ok.

What a very nasty looking incident.
If that happened to me I would be in shock, both as a driver or cyclist.
As a cyclist though I wouldn't go around the corner on the wrong side of the road though

Make sure your kids wear properly approved cycle helmets.
It is clear from the video that they do save lives.

Those dashcams really do come in handy.
That accident can now easily be explained to the authorities.
I am glad the girl is ok.

The video is a good example why children need to wear cycle helmets.
In fact, every cyclist should to set an example.
