Police Break The Law With No Regard For The Public

This is the General Lounge for most things to do with our roads. Indeed, most of us, at some time, use the road system in some way. With this in mind, users may post their experiences or observations here.

Police Break The Law With No Regard For The Public

Dashcams can come in handy for all sorts of things - even catching the police when they break the law.
Here

A dashcam has caught the moment a marked British police car drove through a giant puddle and drenched an unsuspecting Leigh
The road traffic act says that you could be fined up to £5,000 for splashing a pedestrian while driving in your car.

However, in Leigh Road, Eastleigh, Hampshire, UK. We find the police having no regard whatsoever and drench a poor pedestrian on the pavement.

A taxi driver caught the police breaking the law as shown in the video.
The police have defended the Panda Car driver by saying it was safer for the police to drive through the puddle instead of swerving or slowing abruptly!

We pay the police to look after us break the law and abuse people this way.
The police car driver need not have swerved and the taxi behind was keeping a really safe distance.
Had the offending police car slowed down earlier then the pedestrian would not have been drenched.

Obviously the standard of driving by some police in Eastleigh is way under par.

A message to the police - THINK AHEAD!

Yep!
There seems to be one rule for the police and another for the general public.

What an absolute unbelievable story!
I saw this video and the police car driver never slowed down or done anything to prevent this abuse.
The police should be advanced drivers and as a "normal" driver I will tell them that they should be aware of what is going on around them while driving!

The hazard perception test teaches other people to drive and the offending officer should be dragged off the road and made to take the test driving test again.

Shocking how the police chiefs has stuck up for the Panda Car driver.
I am disgusted by this story and have lost faith in them.
I am so glad I don't like in Eastleigh with coppers like that there!

This is absolutely pathetic.
Just what were the police higher ups thinking when they defended their officers actions when its as clear as the nose on your face.
Come on police - don't wait for a complaint.
The evidence is here for all to see - drag the offending officers in and reprimand them.

If the police are to win the public over they are going about it the wrong way.
Its quite obvious the police broke the law there and the police chiefs are letting it happen.

What a bunch of hypocrites!
The police should act against this driver who has obviously broke the law.

That's clearly breaking the Road Traffic Act.
I think the police should have acted without the need for the pedestrian to complain.
The public demand a better standard of driving from the police.
Behave yourself

The police chiefs will have seen this video.
Why did they not say sorry instead of assuming their workers acted correctly?
I doubt whether they will admit their guilt, after all, they are the police!

That's a shocking video.
It clearly shows the police having no though about the pedestrian.
Why can't the police chiefs see what we can?
