Paris removes it's traffic lights to prevent congestion

In an effort to reduce traffic congestion in Paris, France, many traffic lights are being replaced with give way junctions.
Other places in France such as Abbeville, Bordeaux, Nantes, Niort, Rouen and Toulouse have already done this with success.
Up to now 40 junctions have had their lights dismantled and a further 160 will be removed by the end of 2018.
It's a bold move in France but many think this is the right decision.
As we all know, many junctions really need no traffic lights and they are a waste of money.

An excellent idea.
I know many places where traffic lights are just a big inconvenience.

Getting rid of traffic lights is always going to be a positive move providing drivers are responsible.
Good luck to the frogs then.

Nice move to be honest.
Many other place would benefit from taking traffic lights down.
I can think of a few more places near me that would benefit greatly.

There are far too many traffic lights.
When they go off the traffic flows much better.
