Bad parking around my street is getting on my nerves. I have a drive way and sometimes people will block my drive by parking partially across it. Most offenders are foreign looking. They visit my neighbour who is Asian and there's an absolute load of them coming and going day in and day out.

They give me some funny looks when I sound the horn to get their attention. They do usually move straight away when asked but why do people do this? Has the test standard dropped?

I personally couldn't do this. I was taught properly and besides I have respect for others. I really don't see why I should be asking others to move their badly parked car so I can access my property or leave it. I could be in a dire emergency!

Anyone else have problems with bad parking in their street? What can you actually do about bad parking, especially in residential streets?

I had problems many times in the past. You have to report any incident to the police. Get the police to see whats happening every single time. Insist that they prosecute.

My parking problem dragged on for years. God knows how much it cost the police in time but although they always came out they didn't log it as priority and mostly the problems had cleared up before they got here. You need to call them each time.

I reported them once or twice but as you say, the police are very slow to attend for parking.

I have nothing against them as people but the communication issues leaves something to be desired. They just don't seem to care where they park. Sometimes I have been delayed by what seemed ten minutes and that is unacceptable.

I can't stand indiscriminate parkers.
They have no idea about the inconvenience they cause.
I have saw some sights in my time.
Sympathies with those who are suffering with these people.
Make some stickers and bung them on the windscreen of anyone who causes an obstruction to the highway.
The stickers could say something like "Please Consider Others When You Park Your Car"
Use the best glue possible so they take a long time to get it off.
That will give them something to think of next time they park up.
