Residents Parking
Its nice to be able to park your car outside your own door but have we got any rights to do this?
As far as I am aware you can park legally on the road anywhere as long as you park legally.
But then again if you park responsibly you should really avoid places where residents normally park?
Here's where someone left a note on a car which was parked on the road outside their house:
The note to the careless parker read "Please can you park elsewhere when visiting instead of outside my house so I can't park."
Fair enough you might say but the motorist left a note for the resident which read "My car is taxed so I will park where I want! It's a public road not your personal parking space. It is not a disabled space, so I am not breaking the law which, by the way, you are by parking on the path! If you want to park outside your house have a drive put in!"
I will leave this open to debate

Re: Residents Parking
To be honest I don't like people parking outside my house but what can you do?
They are paying their taxes like all of us.
The jury is out for me

Re: Residents Parking
I tell the inconsiderate parkers to get lost.
I am not too bothered about anyone who parks outside my house as its not my road but those who block my driveway and I have had a few of those in my time.

My other car is a Reliant Robin and you can say what you like!
Re: Residents Parking
Its a tough one but I wouldn't deliberately park in an awkward place.
I am a little bit more responsible than that.

Re: Residents Parking
Anyone who inconveniences me by parking inconsiderately at home gets to know about it
Re: Residents Parking
I can be a right old clown when I want but I have far too much respect for other people when it comes to driving.
I wouldn't inconvenience others so I don't expect them to inconvenience me.
In a residential area its only natural for the residents to want to park outside their door.
Its not their bit of road its mine too but I put myself in the shoes of other people.
Also there have been far too many cases in the past where cars have been "keyed" by certain nasty residents for parking outside other people's houses.
I wouldn't want to risk that but its not the only reason I park in other places where possible.

Re: Residents Parking
It bugs me when people just park where they want without a thought for other people.
Have some stickers printed out and at the ready.
Stick them on the "offender's" windscreen, stand by and watch.

Re: Residents Parking
The majority of car drivers are responsible.
Some, however, can be idiots when it comes to parking.
I hate it when inconsiderate drivers inconvenience others especially when they park in the "wrong" places.
Well done to those who speak out in the residential areas where these idiots block other people's driveways etc.

Yes you are correct, of course, but there are a few numskulls who think they own all the road.
Parking in residential streets should be done a bit more courteously.
